I brought my Camaro to a local shop to get the windows tinted yesterday. 20% all around. Looks pretty good. But somehow between the process of dropping the car off and picking it up later that day my alternator decided to die on me! What the hell could the tinting guy have done to kill my alternator?

Re: I have the worst luck!
Chances are, it was just it's time to go.
They always go at the worst possible time, and with no warning.
Theres really not a whole lot someone can do to bring death on an alternator, unless you have a large system and he was testing it good.*Matt

Re: I have the worst luck!
If the camaro wasn't my DD I'd do that. I can not wait for an alternator to ship. I will pick up a new one from autozone. Such a PITA. I pay $180 to get my windows tinted just to spend another $125 for an alternator.

Re: I have the worst luck!
Well, I replaced the alternator and bupkis. It continued to drain the battery til it wouldn't run. So now that alternator is out of the equation I'll test my battery next. I just hope Autozone will take the alternator back.

Building the Tom Henry RS
Part 4: Suspension Mods, Tires, Wheels, Headers and other Cool Stuff.
By: Hib Halverson
At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
