  • cooling fan

I noticed the other day that when the fan turned on at 160 like it was supposed to do but then it turned off a minute or so later. I noticed that the car was running at about 210/215 degrees I checked the fan and it was running Ok,nice and strong....Does anyone know what this might be?

I thought the fan turned on at 210?

I used the hypertech to program it to turn on at 160

I dont know why youd want it on at 160, youd just be trying to cool it further than that.

You could have just put a 160 T-stat in it.

I already have a 160 thermostat andt the fans are supposed to come on also. A cooler engine should make more power. but the car was running a little above 210 also.

Ok, so do a manual fan switch, the hypertuner didnt work, make a cheap fan switch and install it, works fine for me :)

            EDIT: Incorrect installation

There may be "other" ways to do it like you listed but its not incorrect, Robert.

EDIT: I read your page, and it says its not wired correctly.

                But
I have a Low speed fan, on low setting
I have a High speed fan, on high setting, and
when the switch is off it works as normal operation, works ok for me

Your SPST switch only grounds either the green or dk blue wire.

Grounding only the Drk Blu wire will result in only the RH fan operating at high speed. For both fans to operate on high speed, BOTH relay leads must be grounded.

Your switch may "work" but it is NOT correctly installed.
