  • DRL Delete?

Yes I searched... "remove drl" "drl delete" etc...

Anyone know where this mod is posted? I hate those things, takes away from the front...

Thanks for the link. But it seems to be for the Camaro... I have a Bird. I need the parking lights to go out, which is still called DRL, the link talks about the Camaro headlights! Is this still the same thing?

The headlights on the Camaro automatically come on at dusk. Looks like he disabled that and the DRLs. Did you read all the way through that to see if it would work, or not? At the bottom it says "The Canadian Pontiac is basically the same as the Chevrolet. However the domestic Pontiac does not have automatic headlights. The factory shop manual schematic shows this is done by wiring the ambient light sensor inputs together. (For this reason it's ok to short out the ambient light sensor inputs on the Chevrolet if you just want to disable automatic headlights.)"

Personally, I think the cars look just fine with the lights running and it's a safety feature. Granted it doesn't do much in the daytime, it helps alot of people at the edge of dark, especially those with astigmatism. My buddy trashed his '70 Chevelle at dusk when he went to cross an intersection after he though traffic cleared. The oncoming lights let him know there were cars coming for a good distance, but after it cleared he crossed the intersection and another car was at the end of the line of traffic with no headlights on (since it wasn't technically dark yet), and no DRLs. Boom, dead Chevelle and a few hospital bills.

Don't take this the wrong way, but it's the same car. I'll try something else, here: http://www.lightsout.org/disable.html
Again, the instructions are universal between the two cars. Camaros AND Firebirds are about half way down the page. It's so easy a caveman can do it.
