  • "Free" Manual Fan Switch Installed Today

Went to Radio Shack and bought a center-off switch, two LEDs, and some wire. My buddy and I did it today, took a few hours just because we were taking our time with it. Simple install, don't buy SLP's fan. Cost me about 3+ hours and $14. Can't get the LEDs to work correctly yet, but that's for next week. The high speed/low speed is working well, and I'm excited just because it worked.

I used this guy's walkthrogh, didn't take any pictures myself. Once I get the LEDs working, I'll get some pictures on here. NOT TOO BAD OF AN INSTALL, DON'T PAY $80 when you can do it for $14 and some elbow grease!

haha i did a manual fan switch in my car, cost total of like $4? switch was $1.50'ish, wire like $2, and $0.50 on a soda to keep me comfortable. Yeah, that sounds about right. I get a nifty discount at our local radioshak since i use to work there. good times, i have used the switch like twice since i dont like to shut my car off while running into some place for 5 minutes. and it triggered a code, and my service engine soon light came on... that wasn't cool but no biggie. problem solved!
