trying to install new HU, rear bracket help...please

I'm trying to install my kenwood x789 in my 98 Firebird (it doesn't have the monsoon system), and my HU goes almost all the way in, but a metal bracket seems to be hitting the back of the new HU. How do I remove this bracket, or does it have to be cut?

yeah i found out its the factory stereo's rear support bracket, so is there any way to take it out without demolishing it?

No , ive installed 182182819188888888 radios... seriously just break it off.

I dont think ive seen em in firebirds but if the radio isnt going in level that could be the reason its getting caught up..

Just use a screw driver and hammer, they break easily
