  • My Setup!

I still wish I would have had more money to spend on a nicer setup then what I have now.

the pics on my sound domain don't show the 10w7 but it's there will add pics when I get a chance. Kinda thinking I will sell what I have and use something else but I don't know at this point and time.

looks nice but why use all that space for only one sub?

here are the specs for the 10w7, you got like twice the air so it wont hit as well as it should..

        Re: My Setup!

I had a single 12" Alpine in a center board like his setup, and I "thought" that it hit well. I then bought an MTX stealth box for the hole in the drivers side, and decreased to a Sony 10" with the same Amp, and d@mn it hits now at the same Volume. That small box made alot of difference in sound! I think if he put that sub in a stealth box, it would pound! Just my 2 cents though.

im going to get a 1 sub set up to fill up the entire well area. but my sub likes 3-4.5 ft boxes :) i think if he vented that box he would be closer to factory spec with port displacement and the fact that ported boxes generally need to be bigger.

In all reality i was just lazy and didn't wanna build a new box and false face so I just fiberglassed a trim ring in place to mount and seal the sub up.....and it actually sounds just fine.......the more power you push to a sub the smaller of a box you want as it takes more power to push the sub to it's excursion limits. a bigger box doesn't take that much power.....so instead i just turnded the gain down below max power and left the bass Eq off. i run it hard daily and still runs great.

              Re: My Setup!

only problem with putting this sub in a stealth box is it needs a minimum of 1.25 cubic feet sealed and it is almost 9 inches deep.....for a 10 that's insane.. the 12 was 11.5 after displacement i am sitting at 2.08 cubic airspace in the box. still to big even if i airo ported it or slot ported it but. been messing with stereo's to damn long....the longer i do it the more i want to get into the go scene. tired of alarms and speakers.....and i hate LED's.
