I have a 99 firebird with a monsoon stereo and my cd player isn't wanting to work. I keep getting the E20 error code. I have sen the post about cleaning it and that hasn;t worked either. I am thinking of taking it to a stereo place but I was really wondering what year of monsoon stereo system will work with my car. I have an opportunity to get an 01 but that has a different face than mine (slightly but i am still questioning it). So if anyone could tell me the ones that would fit mine it would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 99 firebird and I was wondering if anyone knew of any crossover problems with the '00 to '02 monsoon systems being put in a 99 which had the older one in it. I juat want to make wure that all the wiring harnesses match up and that the system fits and will function correctly.

Because I cant et one that works with my monson speaker system and my steeringwheel contorls. Or can I? The 10 speaker system is what I am most worried about.
i know for the GTP's they made an interface to get your steering controls and the stock HU to the Bose system in them. Not sure if it applies to the Camaro's and birds though.~Cole~

I know for a fact that you can get a kit to keep the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket headunit as long as it's not a POS headunit. i know Pioneer has it. And i also know that the speakers can be used with a stepdown module that almost every local stereo shop carries.
