  • Red light on Amp!

I hooked up my amp and it works great but the red warning light is on but i can't figure out why? my guess is that maybe my ground cable is too long. ( apx. 3 feet) Is that what it is?

    Re: Red light on Amp!

Depending on the amp, the red light may just be power.
Not all amps have a Protect light, as long as it's working fine .. i cant think of anything that would be wrong, the ground cable really should be shorter but as long as it works w/e.
I think they say 2 ft or less on the ground.
What kind of amp? Specs? What subs you running?

      It's an old rockford amp. 125w x 2 channels. And there are 2 12'' punch 1's.

Does it say anything around the light? Or in the owners manual? If you don't have one, look for it online. It's playing fine with the light on, correct?

If its working fine I wouldnt worry, generally on most amps with a red light you wont hear anything. If you arent gettin any sound double check your connections for good contact.
