ticking coming from speakers

there is a ticking sound coming from my front speakers... they sound like a watch ticking about every second. It only stops when I completely shut my radio off or when the car engine is not running.
They are loud enough to be heard when the radio is on low.

Any idea what it might be?

It didn't start until I did the drl mod last week.

All stock audio gear? First guess is re-grounding the headunit directly to chassis vice using the stock wire.

does the ticking get faster when you rev the engine? if so it could be radio interference from ur ignition system.

Nah, it's consistant ticks, about a second apart.

I have a pioneer headunit and an MTX amplifier. This didn't start until a week ago when I took apart the dash and did soldering to shut my drl's off.

umm...did you make sure nothing is touching anything in there, and you didnt short any solder joints together.

After taking the headunit out the sound stopped... come to find out, something back there was touching something it wasn't supposed to be. A little electrical tape around the metal plugs and problem solved.
