• Which Subs???

    12w7 or audiobahn 12" immortal?

Which one is loudest, which one is clearest?

How big is the difference. I heard a 10w6 and was not impressed. Thats the best sub i have heard.

Also, has anyone pulled off getting a 10 in sub in the hatch part, not the trunk thing. If so i would like to see some pics on how bad it looks. i havent seen any camaros with hatch boxes.

Probably gonna have to pay the 270 for a t-top box from subthump.. :(

    Have a nice day...

Both subs can be loud in the right box.I have heard some immortals get really loud. But i would think that the 12w7 would be better sound quality wise. Also it has alot to do with what amp you will have and the boxes. If you are keeping the 720 watt kenwood i dont think it would be enough to power either sub. IMO i know some people with one alpine type R subs that get reall loud and are good sound quality wirh less than 1000watts.

i think im going to put a 10" L7 in a subthump stealthbox and add two more infinity 6x9's in the back by my other two rear speakers, throw in another 720watt kenwood so that i can run my front 4 speakers on 1 amp and the back 4 on another, then add a 1000 watt kenwood for my sub... The 1000 watt is only really 500 watt rms so it should be okay. I guess i just have an affinity with infinity haha..

My speakers are RETARDEDLY loud right now and i want to make them louder but do you think the sub will be loud enough?

God damn do my speakers sound good tho.

By the way, has anyone heard an 18" Solo X..? I just discoverd it and noticed it takes 5000 watts rms.. loool

What about two 10"s or one 12" in a millhouse box? An L7 in a stealthbox would sound good but if you want loud then I would go with alteast two 10s. Since you're already a fan of Infinity might I recommend the Kappa Perfect subs?

Also, I don't think I would bother getting the 6x9s in the back, the 3 sets of speakers you have already is more than enough.

As far as I know subthump doesn't make a millhouse box anymore, and as nice as it is to have I would reccomend against it. I used to have a millhouse and a stealthbox until my car was broken into and its just too easy to jack that box and it doesn't seem to flow with the car until its shut and then it rattles the crap out of the rear hatch area. But when the millhouse is faced on its back subs pointing at the sky it doesn't really rattle at all, which is nice but shows the world what you've got in the trunk. Infinity woofers sound nice, but in the setting I heard them in (sound room from the local audio shop) they didn't beat as hard as the Rockford punches. Almost the same color scheme too so you might be able to get away with it.

okay, ive decided 10" L7 in a subthump stealth box for sure now..

Now, time to pick the amp.. I like kenwood, but a kicker amp would make more sense.. Will the kx400.1 be enough or should i get the 600.1 and hope i dont blow the lil 10.

The L7 is rated to take 600 watts rms and from what ive heard kicker amps make more power than they are rated at.

Last question how big is the difference going to be from 400 to 600 watts? Barely noticible to the ear right? Not sure on this one.. Need to know asap tho! thanks, gonna order tomorrow.

The 400 won't push the l7 as well as the 600 would.

Here are some crappy pictures of my audio install.

It doesnt get too loud, but its only 500rms.

                      http://www.mikewillhiggs.com/gallery...vel/94_Camaro/

BTW, I sugest the JL if you can afford it. In the right box they are amazing, and it sounds like you need a sub to keep up with all that full range speaker up front.

PS: you running your 3-ways on full range? or are the Xoverd at some point, cause with a sub like that, I'd only wanna hear the sub when it gets LOWWW.

mwh27 your seats are red, I've never seen that. Was that an option or did you have that upholstered?

As for the 600w rms amp, I would go with that even if it is underrated you can tune it down so that you don't have to go balls to the wall with the amp. The T10001bd that I have is rated at 1000w rms but the paper from rockford says 1300.

No, it was a stock option, its a 94 with NO options other than the rear defroster.
