Anyone have a 15 in there rear hatch? I am getting a 15 now and im told fiberglass will make it fit but im sure a box premade is gonna be way cheaper. Anyone have a 15 in the well?

I am not dising on your 15 but I just wanted to say a freind of mine but a 15 in his car and the air coming from the hatch sux's... the hit is muffles.... Now a couple of 12's or ten are fine for a hatch back... If you get ten's the best way to biuld a box is the speakers facing the hole in the trunk... face them at an agle... have the back hatch do the bassing... kind of turns your car into a banpass box... sounds really good like that... I have tried everything in my life but I love the sound my 95 bird gives off...

I have built a box for a single JL Audio 15W6. He didn't mind loosing T-Top storage, so I build the box to go across the ledge in the trunk. To make the box shorter, and leave room to mount his amps on top of the box, I mounted the woofer firing into the box. This way the magnet was outside of the box, and depth wasn't a concern. Plus, with the sub outside of the box, it wasn't taking up air space, and it could again be made smaller.

The sub is driven by a Fosgate 800a2. Sounds great in the car; it can go from tame to extreme. A sub that large requires a lot of space and power. It would have been a tight fit to fit two back there in the style of box I used. But if you build it to extend down into the well further, you could find enough airspace. If you put the sub at the bottom of the box like I did, there is little or no clearance between the sub frame and the well walls. The edge of the sub extends right to the edge of the box

Here is a drawing of the side of the enclosure. The right of the image is the front of the car. The angled piece should fit against the slant of the hatch. The rear facing part was pretty much vertical. The ends are shown open but were closed with a flat board. The speaker hangs below it.Pic
