sound dies when I hit the breaks

when I drive with the radio or cd player the sound will die when I hit the breaks. Then when I hit the gas the sound goes back up. Is there a wire or something that may do this? It is a Pioneer Deh-p7600mp head unit

I would guess that it's either a short or a bad ground.

I would make sure all your wiring harness connections on the HU are good and solid [recrimp 'em].
