  • Bought new amp. lol

Hey i am tired of that old one anyways... i mean its time to upgrade. Now i gotta get better subs. *tee hee*

My friend bought the same one from another friend and he paid $250 or something. I love it. He has Infinity perfect 10s or something similar.

i dont like sony but i couldnt resist with the price and i like how it preforms.

Oh and one question... will it kill the subs i have now? Rockford Fosgate Punch z (i think its 400 watts or 450 max each). If i keep all the levels low it should be ok right-- i dont want to kill them just yet.

I think for new subs I want Kicker or JL.

Sweet deal on that amp. Yeah I'd definitely keep your gains turned down. Crutchfield.com sells Punch Z's and they label the power ratings @ 150watts RMS.

    Punch Z specs at Crutchfield.

"If" your subs are 4-ohm each, I bet that's why your old amp died. Shouldn't have to worry about things burning up now since you have a mono amp.

What size power wire are you running now? That amp needs at least 4-awg power wire and uses 3-(40amp) fuses on the amp itself. You'll need a 120-150amp fuse up by your battery for the power wire. Let us know hot it sounds

I'd think about wiring the subs in series to present the amp with an 8 ohm load for now. Wouldn't take much to smoke a pair of Punch Z's. And three 40amp fuses!?!?! Impressive for a 900W amp. Sounds like a VERY good buy at that price. Is Sony changing their name in the car audio world? ;)

Yeah I bought from CMT Trading before. whoo hooo....

I am using a 4 Gauge kit right now from Knu Konceptz.

BTW the old amp isnt dead!!!! BAH Here is what happened the damn fuse got stuck in the fuse holder and when i pulled it out one end was still inside the other end. I am gonna sell that amp anyways to my friend at work who bought my old HU.
