  • 2 ohm or 4 ohm?

I have a v12 mono amp (mrv-100m) and i was planing to hook it up to 1 type R. but should i use the 2 ohm sub or the 4 ohm one?
my amp says it runs 240x1 ch max at 4 ohm's and 300x1 ch max on 2 ohm's. So that means i want the 2 ohm sub right?
Also should i think about upgrade this amp to get the most out of my 1 sub or should this be enough?
    thx

a dual 4 ohm voice coil run in parallel will equal 2 ohms, and would sound better than getting a 4 ohm.

At the end of Part Three, we changed the valvetrain of the 3.8-liter V6 in the Tom Henry RS. We installed new, Yella Terra "Ultralite" 1.8:1, aluminum roller rocker arms, Katech valve springs and Katech titanium retainers on our 3800 Series II V6.
Ultralites are nearly 25% lighter than the stock 1.6 rockers and 8% lighter than the SLP aluminum...
