  • 4 tweeters good for front staging?

I just hooked up my SPL 6.5 componet set with the xover in the rear minus the 1inch tweeters. Up front I have the RF punch 6.5 2 way's and two 1 inch tweets in my pillars. I want to make use of the unused set of tweeters that came with the componet set...so i was thinking of maybe getting them mounted in the door? Or will that just be way too much up front?

    Thanks,

    Brandon

Pics of the componet speakers at my website on page 4 if anyone wants to take a look at them. They sound relativly descent especially for the money. They fill in the back really nice. I Imagine they will do alot better when i get a 4 channel amp on my fronts and rears. I think there rated at somewhere between 30 and 75 watts rms so my little headunit isnt even beggining to push them....20x4 i believe it is...

Your staging is shot to hell now! Components go up front and mid range speakers go in the rear, unless you do like im going to do and have components in both the front and rear!

well, its the componet midbass drivers thats in the rear on the xover. No tweeters in the back. Up front I have the RF coaxials and the 1ich tweets with no xover. I thought it would be better to have the midbass in the back for the "rear fill". Am i wrong on this? They dont play loud compared to the front at all, but thats prolly because there alot better off with an amp on them.

My opinion is that the best imaging comes from using the fewest speakers to cover the sound well. Anything directional from the rear is going to bounce all over the car on the way up and lose its imaging - put any midrange and tweets up front.

I like to put them (tweets and mids) close together, since there will be sounds that bridge the speakers and I don't want them coming from different places. For me, that ultimately meant using either the door component locations or kick panels. I put a pair of components in the door, and imaging is nice as long as the passenger isn't blocking my right side tweet with their legs. 10" stealth box (homebuilt) in the back for nondirectional bass.

Rear speakers only come on when there's rear passengers (4x6 component plates), which is about twice a year.

The seat covers were a gift...dont know exactly where they came from but there custom genuine sheepskin. They ran right around $250 for both of them according to my mom. The bowtie in the back was free because i sold my 90 RS to a guy that works at a signs shop. He did it for me. I think everything sounds real good how i got it right now...i know i dont have a deaf ear or anything. Ill just play with the config and see what works best....thanks again guys!!

IMO, that is about the best way to come to a conclusion. If you can, see if you can find a point of origin on those "Lamb haired" covers pimp!
