Ok, so I've got a sweet mtx 1501D and a pair of kicker S12L5's...gonna get a cap and a yellow top pretty soon.... question is, I have a boss in dash screen, and the eq controls on it are like nil... So I wanna do something to maximize my bass (and possibly shaping of it) without replacing the in-dash. Should I go with an eq between the in dash and amp or some sort of line level boost???? Anyone have any particular suggestions for brands/models for each???

You could always use the adjustments on the MTX to get it ideal to the kind of music you listen to, and just leave it. This works, but isnt real funtional for "on the fly" adjustments.
Ive never used a seperate EQ unit, and line level ones are normally junk from what ive seen. I know Pioneer makes a nice digital EQ, and Phoenix Gold makes a nice analog one. But as far as personally using them for a while, i havent.
