If i were to get a new cd player, like an mp3 cd player, is there any unit out there that i can rig up the steering wheel controls on my 2000 camaro with the monsoon? Thanks in advance.

I've never seen or heard of anyone doing this. I'd imagine someone very, very good in the electronics field might be able to do it.

I think the PAC-SWI-2 is what you want:

Its $59. Just check with the company and make sure it'll fit your setup.

Lightning Audio makes the steering wheel controls adapter. Any audio store that sells rockford fosgate can get it for you. The only thing that you need to be aware of is that for this item to work the HU you install must have a wireless remote control and it must be kept in the vehicle

Yeah.. We had another discussion like this about 2 months ago..

Do A Search for it.. Theres more options than the PAC Unit if I remember right... Or I just found more than one place to purchase it or something...

But the PAC unit is all you need to get them working..

They make a GM steering wheel control that is specifically made for the Alpine D853 and D857 1.5 din units. They retain all of the features of your monsoon controls. Price for the converter is $90 and the price for the decks is between $350 and $550. I personally went with the 857 and will be getting the module soon. It is the ONLY one on the market that plugs onto the radio, all the others use a remote transmitter somewhere in the car that relays a singnal from a remote in steering wheel.
                  That\'s not a tool that\'s a damn brick!
