Do you guys have components or 3-ways in your fbodies? I would like to put in components but don't know where I could put the tweeters!

I don't like the Q-logic kick panels because in my last car I had kick panel speakers and the bass vibrated my foot. (personal annoyance)

I guess you could mount a tweeter right next to the speaker in the rear seat locations. (not the hatch, but where the 6.5s are by the rear seats)

Where can you put the front tweeters? I don't want it looking bad. Or did you guys just get 3-ways????????????

I've seen many a friend go with flush mounted tweeter and custom grills. It looks very nice, and it looks stock.

You can mount the front tweets right next to the 6.5. They are light so they door panels will support them. You could also mount them right in the middle of the speaker grill. An audio shop told me to mount them higher up on the door right smack in the middle of the plastic part over the top off the door handle just a few inches below the top of the door. Their show car is like this. It looks crappy but they got 38 out of 40 on the soundstage and imaging at the last audio contest.

Do not buy rear speakers. You don't want any sound coming from behind you. Just like at home and at concerts, you want all the sound coming from the front of you. Buy a very nice set of front components and a good amp to power them and you'll never have to worry about front speakers again. Most quality components come with 3 mounting hardware pieces with the tweeter. Flush-mount, plain mount where it sticks out about an inch, and an angled mount so you can point in in whichever direction you'd like.

I was really interested in a 3-way system before. But, there are very few options for mounting the 3rd driver, so I decided to stick with a two way.

you could mount the tweeters for the fronts on your a-pillars.

I agree with Chemten10, a-pillars. That's where I put mine. I dunno about a camaro though, I assume they're pretty similar. They provide the soundstage I was looking for, I like the feel of the sound coming from in front of me instead of at my feet as with the factory tweeters in the bird. Also, my knees blocked the factory tweeters (I'm 6'2"). :D

Looks pretty nice Birdie...thanks for the pics. how hard was that to do? What did you use to cut the holes?

Also, has anyone seen the tweeter holders that replace where the manual mirror controls go? (you need to have power mirrors to do this) I was wondering if any had pictures of that.

I have components, there's pictures on the link in my sig.

For tweeters in the mirror bolt covers, I'll be doing this soon but I have not seen anyone else that has done it.

You know that little black triangle where the mirror is on the door? I have my tweeters mount on them. I used velco and have not had any problems.

It wasn't that bad. The speakers came with templates for cutting the holes and it gave the diameter of the necessary cut. I used a hole saw attached to a drill to make the cut. The only problem with this solution, and is noticable in the pics, is that this section of the a-pillar is not flat, so the edges aren't quite flush with the surroundings in some areas. Most people don't notice this and from many angles they look like they were there from the factory.
