It all depends on what type of sound you are looking for. Are you wanting earth shattering bass or tight bass with a little knock? If you want earth shattering get 2 12's if you want tight knock with some bass get two 10's. Either way steer clear of the 8's they suck!!!!

8's are ok if they are in the right box. eclipse's are nice as well as orion's. just get what you think sounds the best that you will sufficiently power.

You'll definately be louder with the 3 10s, but I would go with the 2 12s. You'll have a much cleaner sound that way. BTW, I hope you've already upgraded your highs and mids, cause if not all you're going to hear is bass. I got 2 punch 10s (old style) and factory door speakers. On some songs I can turn my bass all the way down and still hear nothing but bass. Of course I hardly ever turn my stuff up.

96 beast, should i upgrade them even if i have the monsoon in my car right now. i probably could, cause i'm getting the 12's (or 10's), an amp, box and instalation for FREE :D

To be honest I've never heard the monsoon system. If you got the extra cash it wouldn't hurt. If not, it can always wait till later. I would probably see how it sounds first, then upgrade if necessary.

So what subs are you going with? If they have Hx2, check that one out in the sampler room. Or, better yet, Power Hx.

You could use a single Power Hx15, ported, and outperform multiple sealed boxed subs... just have the power to feed it, like an 800a2.

Or, if a 15 is too big, a Power 12. Trust me, your ears will hate you!
