• Question about Q-Forms

I was looking at the Q-Logic kick panels, and I want to know it the driver side panel takes up the dead pedal space. from the pictures it looks like it has.

Also, where can I get them cheaper than $200?

    Thanx all

It does take up SOME more of that space, but not all. They are usually like 299 retail, sogood luck finding them in good shape cheaper than 200.

Does anyone have installed pics of them to see how much room they take up? I was considering them at one time. I hear they are reinforced more than they use to be and are awesome if you add a little extra reinforcement of your own to them.

I don't know about the the pods you're talking about. I've heard of them, but I didn't like the idea of losing the space. Aside from that even where my pods are I feel that they are too low and my legs block sound. That's just my thoughts tho I have no personal experience. You won't find anyone to make them any cheaper than the pods you're looking at, but there's some pictures of them for you anyway at:

DrMillhouse - How much did those pods cost to make, if you don't 'mind me asking?

And about the sound being blocked, I don't think you loose too much that way. The point is to try and take the speakers to a point where both sides are an equal length away from your ears. The only way to do that is to take them futher down and back.

Also, I found a site that sells them for $150 + shipping :D

I don't mind you asking at all. The pods that are there cost me about 50 or so to built, maybe a little more. However, you can not expect anyone to make anything like that for any less than about $400. It might be a little more, it might be a little less, but it's not likely it will be much less than $400. It's not the materials that cost so much, it's the time involved and the work involved.

If you can find those for 150 that's probably the way to go. I just want to let you know ahead of time about the possibility of lost sound because they are so low on the car. I hope that you like them

How did you make them? If I could save myself some money, I'd love to have something similar to yours. I have a bit experience in fiberglass and such, but what did you make the molds from?

I have the q-forms in my 1994 camaro. I can get pictures of them if someone needs them. I am in the process of making/taking pictures of my car so hold tite!

They do not take up that much foot space at all. I have an automatic also though. I have heard with manuals it is a close fit. I really enjoy the sound that they offer. When I upgrade to Image Dynamics, they will be sound-deadened.

The driver looses some room, passenger looses more room than the driver. I have mids+tweeters in the kickpannels + 6.5 midbass in the doors. It is a pretty good combo. Sounds decent.

                Hope that helps,
                Chris

A pic of both sides would be great! Send them to my e-mail if you don't have a host.
