  • Questions about Line-In Adapter (2001 Camaro w/Monsoon)

According to the FAQ, the CD changer plug is "located behind the carpet that covers the drivers side cubby hole. Its wrapped in foam taped to the speaker harness usually."

Could anyone describe this a bit more clearly for me? I'm receiving a line-in adapter (AAI-GM9) and would rather connect it myself than get someone to do it for me.

    TIA

under the cover in the back compartment on the driver side... almost under the accual speaker area. gotta remove the cover to get to it. just plastic push pins that hold it on.

the plug should be taped to the speaker wire in some foam tape.

Don't think me difficult or anything, but I might just take this to a pro. She's only a week and a half old to me, and I can't seem to find the spot. If anyone's got a photo of the general area, because I'm still unsure if I'm looking in the right spot.

      Thanks.

just twist those 3 pins in the back left hatch with a quarter, then lift that panel. just pull up the panel, and you'll see a wire dangling with the end wrapped in foam. thats the connector. some cars ive heard dont have them tho (even ones that should).

you have pins? All the cars i have seen just have 3 xmas trees that pull out.

to remove the panel, if you don't have twisty things, you will see an arrow on the front, top of that panel, lift up, and the panel will come out.

if you have the changer connector, it will be EASY to find, just as the others have said.

I've got a new problem, unfortunately. I had the part installed and the wire run to where the line is coming in. It's now that I find out that I'm missing the slave unit required for this thing to work. (Bear with me, I'm a bit inexperienced, and thought that the "single CD player" in my head unit would somehow qualify.)

At this point, it's either order the right part or ask around here if there's either a way to trick the HU into thinking that a slave's attached, or post in the "Wanted" forum for a slave unit. I'd rather have the former. Any ideas?

(I've changed the topic heading to something more subject-worthy.)
