• 6.5 " Bazooka tube blew up!

I had it turned up kinda high and it made this big pop and then I could smell something like burning!! So I went and told the stereo place and they said they set the amp to high. So they said they would pay for a new on. So I gave them $30 more and they are getting me a 8inch. With my 6.5" I could never even hear the bass out side the car. When I get my 8inch will people be able to hear the bass out side the car????????
Will my bazooka tube mabe sound like a 10?? or not?

No...why do you want people to hear the bass ouside your car?

This kind of reminds me of the time I was doing an install, back in my highschool days, and this kid asked me to mount tweeters on the outside of his car. I did it, but that was only because us installers get paid by the hour ;)

No matter what size bazooka tube you get, I don't think anyone will be able to hear it outside. The tubes are meant for people who like bass in moderation...

I have the most powerful pre-amped bazooka 10" they make. It sounds great. It hits pretty hard, but you won't set off alarms or anything. You can hear the trunk rattle, etc from outside. People will know you have a sub if you crank it up, but no point really. The less bass that gets out, the more you here in the car! and thats a good thing! :D

edit: i'd get the 10" ;)

the 8 wont be that loud either...its a smaller speaker and cant produce those really low tones...you should get the 10..you heard mine outside the car but Im not a showoff...sounds like you are ...no offence but I really hate the guys that crank there music up or rev the engines up to look cool...if someone sees me and compliments me I appreciate it....a word of advice...noone likes a show off ;)

I can see what you mean about the show off thing.I am not one of them people who rev there motors, i never do it. A pet peeve of mine are people with no bass driving by with there Radio up, and it sounds like crap. I rather here there music with some bass if there trying to show off It's cool

I only turn up my 12s when someone asks how loud they are. Other than that, I try to keep it down so I'm not labelled as one of those showoff dudes... As far as reving my engine goes, I think they'd just laugh if I did that.
Anyway, if you want enough to rattle your car apart, don't plan on doing it with a bazooka tube. go component.

yea, you don't want the bass to go out of the car. thats one thing i like about my car, is that i don't hear the bass outside that well. i think its because i have the flap int he back up, so that the subs are enclosed in the trunk...

get 4 10" subs, and 2 1000 watt amps, run them at about .5 ohm impedence, push about 2500ish watts total, and you will be able to hear it from oustside, and you can also set off car alarms in parking garages a floor away
its fun as hell, in my car at least >
