    Okay so should I get the ALPINE CDA-7892 or ALPINE CDA-7893or should I wait for ALPINE CDA-9813

    Wait for the 9813 so you can get the Bass Engine Pro features. But don't buy from Crutchfield..... overpriced. Crutchfield is a great company. 24 hour tech support, free wiring harness and install kit and fast shipping..... but damn... all that comes at a price!

      It all depends on what you want. If you want MP3 capability or not. If you do, save yourself the money and get the 7895 i think it is, looks just like the 7893 but its not blue. I have the 7893 and a MP3 changer, and am very with the results. Also, just make sure that you get a flush mount kit to mount the deck. The one that the usually give you at more stereo shops or the one that they mail with it looks like crap. IT sticks like an inch and a half out of the dash.

      I had to have mine specially built, but if you want, check it out and see what you think.

      A good place to buy stereo equipment online is etronics.com don't shop at crutchfield, they are sorry.

          I would go with the 7893.. I have it and it rocks...it had plenty of power for any system you plan on pushing. I compete in db drags all over the US and it is a great head unit. I don't use the internal amp...but it has enough power to push most normal speakers.

            I was told you have to hook the 7893 straight to your battery, or it will not have enough power to support it. Would that affected your amp from running off the battery or not?

              You were told wrong, it hooks up like every other deck.

                I saw this on crutchfield and one other site (I don't remember which one). Is this wrong?

                Wiring Note: While providing high power output, this unit can draw a substantial amount of current. Per Alpine, this receiver's constant power wire must be connected directly to the positive terminal of the battery in your vehicle, and 10 gauge wire must be used to make the connection. This requires a length of 10 gauge power cable, an in-line fuse holder with a 20 to 30-amp fuse and a ring terminal (the ring terminal is used to connect the cable to the battery clamp). Although all the pieces of a basic amplifier wiring kit will not be not needed, if you do not wish to assemble the required items separately, the power wire and in-line fuse holder from a basic 10 gauge kit can be used to connect the constant power wire to your vehicle's battery. For a secure, permanent connection, the 10 gauge cable must be soldered to this receiver's 16 gauge constant power wire.

                  Yes that is true! The internal amp carries 27watts RMS thats alot considering most internal amps in HU are about 20rms!
