  • What brand of speakers should I get for my vert???

Ok, here's what i'm gonna do. I already have an audiobaun like 1200 or so watt amp pushing two kicker L7's in a normal camaro style box in my convertible trunk. I want to keep my factory cd player for security reasons, so it looks like i DON'T have a system in my car. I want to get good aftermarket 6.75 speakers, front and back being pushed by an aftermarket amp as well. I also want to get a pair of SSheve's custom tweeter pods too. What kind of speakers should I get? I do have a nice pair of pioneer 6x9's from my old 3rd gen. I have 2 sealed boxes for them, and was thinking about putting those in the trunk as well. Do you think that would make a difference as well for sound/loudness with the top being down? Let me know what you guys think.

Hey man, if you ever put new speakers in the back e-mail me. I was going to a while ago, but everyone told me that you have to have a small magnet so it wouldent mess with the vert top. Anyway, hit me an email if you ever replace those

well, i put some pioneer 6x9's in the back of my 91 camaro vert when i had it when people said they wouldn't fit. the opening was like for a 6 1/2 or something. so it is possible to change the speakers back there.

Putting more volume in the trunk would probably just add to the amount of rattling. I know my crappy subs rattle the hell out of my convertible trunk lid, so im sure your L7s pound the hell out of that thing. Did you put any dynamat or sound dampening material on yours? On mine the only thing that helps is when you put weight on the thing to hold it down. It seems like it will rattle no matter what i put on it.

Here are some pics of what I am running. I tried to post em' before but the links were bad and they wouldn't work. I custom built this box with a bigger flange at the top so i could mount my amp on it. I am putting a 1 farad digital cap. on the other side, so it will look better when that is installed. Honestly, i didn't even hook the subs up yet. I just have the box, subs, and amp sitting in my trunk. I still have to get a Pac Ohem-1 to keep my factory cd player. My car is tucked away for the winter anyway. I did dynamat my 91 camaro vert trunk, and it did help a little. I think the tailights were the worst thing that rattled on that, but the 3rd gens were known for that. I thing my spoiler rattled too. The dynamat helped weigh the trunk lid down also.I haven't had a subs in my 4th gen yet, but I hope it doesn't rattle too bad.
