  • Recommended transmission mount

Well, it happened again. This will make my 5th transmission mount since I bought the car, and the 3rd in the past 6 months. Talked to my mechanic who put the last one in, and he'll replace it for free. Does anyone know of a good mount that isnt that rubber "plunger" style, or one that can bear more abuse?

you can use a 1LE mount..you need to make a 1/2" spacer or you need to use a crossmember form an auto v8 with the 1LE mount

          Re: Recommended transmission mount

I have mine in with a v8 cross member and its a beauty...I almost wonder if all the problems people were having with it, were due to the fact that they had to create there own spacers, and it may not have been completely aligned properly since most likely many people were guessing...

I thought the v6 and v8 crossmembers were the same...well, to the junk yard!

I have a A4 V8 tranny mount I can sell, it doesn't work on M5 Camaro, I swapped a A4 in and they are different auto's and manuals bolts. PM me if interested.
