going up to a stop sign, right outside my house, my clutch pedal made a pop like sound as if a cable snapped. now the clutch stays engaged and i get no pressure from pressing in the clutch pedal. I also have lost zero fluid. also the pedal springs back up no problem

    whats my problem here?

It may also be the linkage look at the top of the clutch pedal and make sure everything is connected

no linkage broken or anything. when i push in the clutch, the piston its attatched to goes in with it.. but there is no back pressure. it goes down easily with one finger.. but it still bounces back up normally... i will try bleeding it tomorrow am. like i said, no fluid lost either.

First thing to check is all the lines. Follow the line from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder and make sure it's not damaged or disconnected. Pull on the connection at the slave cylinder to verify that it's securely attached. If all of that checks out, my bet is a master cylinder failure.

yea thanks for the tips. i checked all the lines. all snug and secure no cracks or funny looking spots... when it happened it made a sound like .. muffled snap rock things you throw at the ground and pop.

Since there is no cable in a hydraulic system, I would guess that its the linkage connecting the clutch pedal to the master cylinder.

I know you said the linkage is fine, so... If you heard the snap noise inside the car, Im guessing that your master cylinder on the firewall gave out. Probably popped the diaphram inside the cylinder.

I know on some cars they sell master cylinder rebuild kits, but for this it's actually all sealed, and can be sort of a pain in the *** to change.

Unfortunatly I'll have to say that if you replace the master cylinder, you will probably soon have an issue with the slave cylinder (the other end of the hydraulics)

When they are both new, they build more pressure than when they are worn out, and chances are that when you put the new master cylinder in, it will build more pressure and the slave cylinder will give out.

Kind of a pain in the *** to pull the tranny to swap the slave, but maybe a good idea to do it now rather than it leaving you stranded later.

okay.. update now that there is finally sun outside and no rain and crappy weather..

rechecked all hoses.. turns out there is a crack in the steel braided hydraulic line that goes from the master to the slave. found out by getting stabbed by the damn shredded steel braiding!

anyways is this a special order part? would an auto parts store have it? how do you disconnect the lines from both sides?

Does that explain the sounds you were hearing after? My first thought was that the throw-out bearing wore it's way through the pressure plate release fingers. Sounds like that was wrong though...
