I am looking for a picture of the shift boot bracket that holds the shift boot for a 5-Spd to the console.
The one I have now looks like a blind 5-year old made it with a pair of safety scissors. Apparently the previous owner thought it would be funny to have some chunk of plastic super glued to the console to hold down his shift boot.
Anyways...please post any pictures of the bracket if you have one.
Are you talking about the metal ring for the boot?

PM Farmer2 over at LS1Tech, and he'll make you a metal one for $18 shipped, IIRC. The stock plastic one breaks when you breathe on it! This metal one fits directly in and won't break. Only modification needed is you have to put one slit in the boot for an extra hold-down clip. No biggie, and definitely the best thing you'll find as far as replacements.
It fits 5spds just fine. Not too sure about the 93-96 guys, but 97+ shouldn't have a problem. I got mine roughly back in May of this year; no problems yet, and I don't think there will be any. Like Meaty said, you don't think it's all that great of a buy, but after going through 3 of the stock plastic ones, I gave up and haven't regretted it :)

my plastic one is like 20% plastic, 50% paper clips, and 30% superglue
i have tried to fix that thing so many times, i have driven it for about a year now with the boot just laying down there
Went ahead and moved my starter wire from the back, to the front again since it had no effect on my drain on the battery. Also made me nervous driving...
