what weight fluid does the trans take?

i have some leftover synthetic 75w90 that i used for my diff, will this be ok?

also, can you access the trans fill plug with the car on ramps?

As someone who has changed the transmission fluid in my '96 M5 a number of times I can verify that it takes Dexron III.

Been like that since the mid 80's. Really depends on the trans, most of the heavy duty trucks use the gear oil and the cars use ATF.

I use the Dexron VI in my auto, haven't had any issues.

You can use a synthetic in a manual, thats what Royal Purple is and Dexron VI is. Some like it, some don't.
