  • going to buy a clutch

    what does everybody recommend?

im looking for a clutch for a completely stock car

i have seen some people here recommend perfection clutches, but then on other forums (ls1tech) they say zoom clutches suck and they will only go with spec clutches

im basically looking for a clutch comparable to stock, i dont need any 400tq rated clutches for drag racing

what do you all recommend? I assume the factory clutches are ac delcos? are they expensive?

why not just get a stock clutch or something from autozone?

i know alot of people who hate their spec's cause they chatter alot

i have a centerforce dual friction. i love it. it gribs my hp very well

stock clutches are cheaper, 200ish range mayb less. That is what i would recommend.

I do know my next clutch will probably be a center force though. My spec chatters like crazy

i assume the factory put ac delco clutches in from the factory?

what brand did they use if not?

I bought a Perfection Clutch (makers of Zoom Clutches) from Advance Auto. Supposedly exceeds OEM applications, but I'm not too sure how it'll hold with my build up. Although, it does still look decent for being in for ~5K already running a GT2 cam and bolt-ons.

just get an oem style clutch from autozone or where ever. They will all be pretty much the same

cool, now, do you think i should replace the slave/master cylinder with it, or screw it?

i also kinda want to replace the rear main while im getting the flywheel cut

Re: going to buy a clutch

yes replace the slave/master. When you put in the new pilot, use a bushing instead of a bearing. I recommend a solid brass one. Difference is the bushing does not have the little rollers in it. You may think those rollers are cool, but if just one of those little rollers falls your screwed.
