    could some one tell me how much it will help going from 3.08 to 3.42 can you tell a big difference.

    You'll feel a difference in acceleration, but your top end speed will drop. 3.42's are pretty good gears for a DD, still get decent MPG and accel.

          i got a question i am basically gutting my rear end i got 3.08 and im putting 3.42 gears with a torsen posi diff what do i need to do when i take out the old and put in the new im confused with the shims and crush sleeves

            to be honest, if you are confused w/ that you should really leave it to a professional. it's not the easiest thing to do.
