I need to put the new reluctor ring on for my 3-series carrier. How would this compare to installing a LSD? I really don't want to have to pay big bucks just for the labor of cracking open the rearend. I'm tired of the knocky brakes. :(
BTW, should the reluctor ring on SLP's website work on ANY 3-series carrier? I do not have the Zexel-Torsen LSD, just some LSD/posi that a guy found in his shop.

to install the relucator ring nate you have to take teh diff cover off, drain fluid and pull the lsd out so the ring will fit on the actual LSD. you will have to take off the bots that hold the ring on and then put the relucator back on and then tighten the bolts so they will press the relucator ring back in place
this will be a PITA..i gaurentee..you should done this when you had the LSD installed....howver its not hard you will just have to get a new gasket, and oil and spend a few hours gettin everything to come out and go back in correctly.
