How much does it cost to have a transmission to be rebuilt? It has been sliping lately and i want to get it fixed before shoot N2O a lot. I also want to put a shift kit in there while its being worked on. can anybody tell me the average cost of this. I need to know how mush to save up.

When I had the transmission in my '91 Camaro rebuilt it was almost 900 bucks. It was a 700R4 tranny and I didnt get a shift kit installed (I put it in myself later). So the previous quote of 1100-1200 bucks is probably pretty accurate.
