Few 5 speed question

Are the 4L60E transmission the same from 94-01? I have a friend who crashed her 3.4 camaro and I was hoping to her trans would fit into my 3.8. One last one Are the 5 Speed's trans the same on the v8's and the v6's?

Umm...don't know about the first question, but v8's have a 6-speed, not a 5-speed like on v6's.

I do not believe they are the same... but why would you want her tranny anyways?

transmission from 93-94 was the 4L60, just a renamed TH700R4

95+ got the same transmission, just electronically controlled and called the 4L60E

I want her tranny because it is manual while my is auto.

I wish it was only that easy. I have found a few places that sell a kit. If you know of any places I'm always up for shopping around. I'm more than likely going to swap the tran in March.
