  • big issues w/ reverse

when I put it in reverse and its under a little load or I push on it kinda hard or its the first time after a while and its under just a bit of load (like a slight slope) it rattles or a little grind under neath the gear shift (tranny)
    any ideas?
    thanks

Could be the clutch or tranny crapping out.

Usually shifting to 1st, then to reverse helps it out.

wait... tranny crapping out? how so? just in general, dying??
and the clutch? well its an A4, adn I know they still, of course, have a clutch, its less likely to die...

I have the same problem with reverse. I have a 99 V6 Camaro, when I try to quickly shift to reverse sometimes ill get the grinding noise, however if i shift slowly, it works fine. I dont know what the problem is but if you find out please tell me.

Correct me if im wrong, but Auto Trannys have syncros too. Maybe sycros are having problems? Low tranny fluid?
