  • DS/Transmission area leaking fluid

I recently had a little run in with one of Michigan's 2,200,000 deer (a recent estimate). The only damage that was done was supposedly done to the body, but the car went through a ditch, and I was a little worried about the drivetrain. I got under the car yesterday and noticed a few drops of "pinkish" liquid where the ds comes into the transmission. Could the ds have been rammed into the tranny and ruptured something? Is this something that I should have the repair shop look at? Thanks for any suggestions - let me know if you need any info.

If your trans is leaking that's not good. Fill it back and see if it still leaks. If it does you need to fix that as you'll burn out all kinds of stuff if you're driving low on oil.

Check your trans fluid level. Let the car warm up for around 15 minutes and then check the fluid. See if its low. It could also be gear fluid or an oil leak. I would suggest getting it checked out because you don't know exactly what could happen or what damage was caused.
