I had a dealer I happened to like install mine for $120 with a lifetime guarantee. Install isn't hard but I don't like working on jack stands The SLP Takeoff unit is a very good unit and is usually all anyone needs.

        www.slponline.com get it there

as for working with 3.08 gears i'm not sure. most people do both at the same time. you can find used gears alot cheaper than $200, in fact there's someone selling theirs for $50 shipped in the for sale section.

The Zexel-Torsen take-off LSD from SLP is a very good deal. You can't beat it for $99, & the Torsen is a good unit, too. I had mine installed for free at the dealership (it would have cost roughly what Dominic's cost him, $120 or so), but it helped I had some connections at this place.

look in the mod review section, i think it says something along these lines: "With a swap from 3:08 to 3:42 gears, many have claimed to have dropped their et's from 15.8 to 15.2"

Are there any LSD's that use gears instead of clutch packs? Would the SLP model handle 500 hp?

Do the gears and lsd at the same time: you won't regret it. It will cost more right now, but if you have someone else install them, and you do the lsd and gears separately, the labor cost may well be double. If you do it yourself, doing them both at the same time will save you TIME AND EFFORT. Also, you might get a good deal from the dealership, but most likely they will charge high for parts and labor. Ask your dealership if they would recommend anyone that would do it for cheaper.

Save $$$ or EFFORT and do them at the same time.

                      my $.02 good luck
