• Consistent A4 tranny troubles

After having my tranny replaced for the fourth time since I bought it, the newest trans(installed three months ago) has been giving me the all to familiar feeling of a dying transmission.

These are the symptoms:

At full throttle from a dead stop, the rpm's will get up to 6K where it is supposed to shift out of first and into second. But the problem is, as long as I have the pedal all the way down, the tach hits 6Krpms and the tranny just kinda gets stuck in first......it will not shift until I let of the gas at least half way.

Another is wierd shifting out of the blue. I'll just be criusing steadily at one speed and it will down shift for a couple seconds then shift back into the proper gear.

Anyone else ever suffered from these symptoms?

Yes I did say fourth tranny. :D

OMG dude! Obviously if you went through four transmissions then I would look elsewhere for your reoccuring problem. Maybe your PCM is screwed up in not allowing it to shift or somethin.

I've broken my tranny mount at least that many times. Of course the fact that the pedal is always mashed into the floor doesn't help either. :D

I know my driveshaft center support bearing and rear-end are both shot. This has probably caused the damage for the most part.

The first time was due to abuse.
The second time was due to a Transgo install gone terribly wrong.
The third was due to serious overheating.
The current tranny is probably going because of abuse also.

They haven't made a tranny yet that can withstand my led foot. :D
