  • Busted tranny mount

    i busted my tranny mount today and wont be able to change it for about 3 weeks...is there anything i should avoid doing while driving other than no hard acceleration?? thanx in advance...

    Basically thats all, just no hard acceleration. Try to limit your driving and if you want you could have the dealer swap it for cheap.

    Might wanna look into getting a poly one, I know I need one of those - I just dont want to modify the crossmember with limited tooling.

      im gonna order a poly one soon and i cant avoid driving because i have to go to work everyday that 30 miles round trip...ill just take it easy...

        You should be able to remove and replace the trans mount in about 20 minutes. It's really simple!!!

          OK is this bad.....i drove with a broken mount for about 2 or 3 weeks. I just got it fixed. Is this bad?

            Yup, it's very simple. I've done 3 already with my friend. Poly one is nice too. For my V8, I didn't use the preload plate and shave the bumps off and I get barely and trans movement and minimal vibration from the mount. 100000x better then the stock one.

            It's not good when the mount is fully busted like that, you're putting extra strain and flex on everything. Be very gentle with it until you can replace it.

            MingisDew31186 - I wouldn't say you killed it or anything, but it's not a great thing to do as the whole drivetrain has the extra flex/strain in it.
