what are the stock gears in the 97 firebird auto? and what do you think would be a good upgrade for freeway and strip use?

Look at the RPO codes on your door and compare them with the RPO code listing in the technical Database... If you're going to upgrade and do a lot of highway driving, I wouldn't recommend that you go any more than 3.42's1997 Y87 Camaro with a motor and some stuff.
