    just wondering if the aluminum driveshaft out of a 99 T/A auto would fit my 98 3.8 A4

      guys you don't REALLY need the aluminum driveshaft if your car is stock or has a few little mods. save it for when you are making some real big balls power. do something else with that $150!!! just get it if you're getting it for like 50 bucks or something.

        Use search on LS1 aluminum DS... ;) If you're getting a aluminum make sure its 1LE DS.

          It's a good mod if the car is stock or highly modified.
          You get rid of that nightmare 2 piece steel d/s for a 1 piece aluminum d/s.
          Weight reduction is noticable when you hold both d/s's in your hands.
          I never weighed both of them, my bad.
          I noticed quicker rev's off the line and top end but no gain in the middle rpm's
          Race car - gone but not forgotten - 1997 firebird V6
          nitrous et & mph: 12.168 & 110.95 mph, n/a 13.746 & 96.38 mph
          2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8: 12.125, 116.45
          2010 Ford Taurus SHO: no times yet

            Alluminum DS is definatley worth it, even on a light modded car. It lowers the total rotating weight with will increase HP and Torque (a little). It will improve gas mileage, is easy to install, and in the modding world, $150 is pretty cheap.

              My new driveshaft weighs less then half of what my old one did. I think it's worth it.

                No, it will have an interference with the trans exhaust hanger due to the DS balance ring, and besides it's steel. See the Modification Encyclopedia for options.
