Don't seem to see anyone with it, if you do let me know what problems you came across, if any.

There are a few people on the timeslips page that have 3.73's. Maybe you could email them?

I don't speak from experience, but I doubt it would be a HUGE difference from 3.42s. Moving up from 3.08s would be an insane different down low, though.

Well I've already got the parts, and I'm going to get my PCM reprogrammed from 3.08 to 3.42 factory, yeah- it'll still be off, but there is really no other way to alleviate that at the moment. Was just hoping that people who have done it could chime in and talk from experience if anything unexpected came into play during install//whatever- I'll probably send out some emails.

I'm looking to do the same thing: want to get 3.73s. I would be moving from 3.08s, what kind of difference would in make in 1/4?

but it will make quite a difference in the 1/4--between half a second and a whole second difference.

I've had 3.73s in my A4 for about 1k miles. I need to get my PCM reprogrammed so hopefully hypertech will come out with something for the '98. But anyway, difference down low was immediately noticeable, car accelerates way faster and the fact that two tires spin now when I do a burnout is more than satisfying. I have not had issues with my tranny and bad shifting like some have reported. At least, not yet ;)

Hasn't been back to the track yet, best time with the 3.08s and exhaust was a 15.3 under pretty good conditions and a 2.2 60ft.

I'll post new times as soon as I can drag my lazy *** to sac raceway. :D

I went from 3.23 open to 3.73 LSD and noticed a MAJOR improvement. Probably dropped a half second in the 1/4, but I can't prove that.

going from .08 to .73 does make a huge difference. i've had mine on since around april and haven't had any problems with shifting or anything. something to remember, your speedo and odometer will be off by 25%. that means every 20mph is actually 15, so yes the car does top out at about 85. from what i've seen, the jetscu2000 will fix the speedo and shift points, but i've yet to get one and try.as far as track times, i haven't had a chance to get out on a good night and test. last time i went was extremely hot and humid and noone was running good.
you can\'t get off if you don\'t get on
