    i cant get the t handle shift knob off of my 98 auto bird please help cause i wanna put my new carbon fiber on and take pics i just got my carbon fiber dash kit today.

    If I remember right in the front of the knob (closest to the dash). There is like a staple that you need to remove that fits into a grove on the shaft. I believe that's it. :cool:

      Yes, it's a U-clip. Get a thin flathead screw driver and wedge it out. Remember how it comes out. Tips pointed down, casue that's how it has to go back in.

        Yup, sometimes it is easier if you turn the key to ignition on, press the brake pedal, pull the shifter back into first and then remove the staple.
