When I come to a stop my first and rear gear sometimes jam and I have to struggle to engage the gear. I noticed it got worse since I put the car away for the winter and am now driving it.

Check the fluid in the clutch fluid reservior, and/or bleed the system.
This may sound strange, but I had a similar problem like you are describing two years ago. The first gear was hard to engage when my car was at a stand-still. I had the money together to change the clutch the following weekend, and just as a precautionary I took the car over to a oil change store and had the trans fluid changed (for the heck of it). Drove the car home after the fluid change, and the gears worked like they were brand new! Saved me some money and labor on the clutch. Try it, your problem just might go away for less than $40.00.
If not, you may want to bleed the clutch hydraulic system.
