Are the LT1 and LS1 shafts different?
If so, then how?

The LS1's are lighter, made of alum. while the lt1's are made of steel, a little bit heavier, but both are one he** of an improvment over the stock 2 piece... it made me sick to just look at it.

Is that true?
Does that mean I have a 3800-LT1?

Shirl doesn't seem to think it's true.

There was a 1LE version of the LT1 available. This was aluminum.

The LS1 is aluminum.

The 1LE/LT1 has a bit larger diameter than the LS1, but the LS1 has a balancer ring on the end which adds to the diameter on the end.

I don't have the sizes handy. It was discussed quite a bit, but it was a while back, so it may have cycled off already. Seems like it was around 3" for the LS1, and 3 1/2" for the 1LE LT1.

You're welcome. I sure didn't realize you were still running on the two-piece all this time!? You'll like the aluminum one. :D
