V8 auto transmission

I did a searh, but couldn't find exact info. Can i drop an 99 ls1 into my 98 v-6, and still use my automatic trans from my V-6?

If not....

Is it possible to change my 98 A4 V-6 to a 98 M6 V-8(engine and tranny from a 99 T/A)? I will have the entire 99 T/A to work with, so all the parts would be there.

I would also need to know an estimation of cost for this work. And if anyone knows anyone who can do this in the PA/NJ/DE area?

The v8 and v6 transmissions are not interchangeable. Different bellhousings/bolt patterns.

You can put the matching manual v8 transmission in with the v8 engine, even though you had the automatic before. You will have to do the clutch pedal, etc.

No ideas on the cost though...
