  • Shifter not precise

We bought the Camaro with about 20 miles on it, and ever since I've had it the shifter doesn't feel very precise. I didn't think about it much until I drove the Firebird last week, and shifting gears is very sharp and precise. The Camaro doesn't seem to have a shift pattern as clearly defined as the Firebird.

Also, when I'm driving and let off the gas and then step on it again there is a slight bump, and if I have my hand on the shifter I can feel it move back slightly. Could there be a problem with my tranny mount or something?

No, you probably should just put in a ripper - nothing feels more solid IMO.
