thats like all the money I have spent on mods, upgrades, and repairs on my car's entire life.
But does feel good that the car is all together now.

damn! i paid less than that for: top end rebuild, fuel pump, optispark, waterpump, and a few other odd and ends. did they give you any vaseline with that bill?
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it
haha no vaseline. but they did give me some gaskets and fluid for my next tranny change. they also did a rear end diff. change and cleaned up under my car real good, and gave me some new bolts for my headers, etc. it comes with a 90 day warranty on the parts, and lifetime warranty on the tranny itself( ) he called it "indestructable" and "bulletproofed". he said drive it like a bat out of hell, you wont kill it. go ahead put a v8, nitrous, cam, and supercharge that sucker... this tranny will be just fine!

it chirps between gears like nobodys business. i love it. its a whole new car..
yea i drove it today like a crazy man. had a little leak and went to them and they said its prolly just a little overflow. im going back tomorrow for them to get a closer look though.
That's a pretty typical cost to rebuild an automatic, even not using performance parts. So I think you probably got a good deal if you got all that extra performance parts thrown in.
Guy I work with just spent $2,300 to have his Camry tranny rebuilt when it went out. And another spent $3,000 to rebuild a Taurus tranny.
