You may save a little money now, but it'll cost you later. Spend the money now on a good clutch and do it right. Get a stock replacement from Autozone or something. You can even get a stock kit from GM Parts Direct for $170.
DitryDsm: You currently have a Centerforce and you're downgrading to one of these two??? You'll regret it! Save a few more dollars and then replace the centerforce or go with a spec.

well since i have a spec stage three.. i'd go with a stage 2.

I just got my new clutch I had read alot about spec clutchs including a very intersing report about them "explodeing" and taking out half the car above and around it. Now i kno that would happen to evveryone but if its happend to more than one person that too much ppl for me. I have also read alot about them chattering and going after only a yr. But after all the research i did i decided to go with the centerforce dual friction, i have a 97 3.8.

I can drive it fine for the most part... but it takes finessing. And personally I think anyone running slower then a 14.0 doesn't need anything more then a II, hell even the II might be overkill. And because its a "performance clutch" doesn't neccesarily mean it will last longer.
lets face it unless your are running FI or in the top .5% of na cars really no need for anything that crazy imo...
and if you are at those levels, you should be converting to a auto anyways because your **** is on borrowed time.

FWIW I read about both, came up with a bunch of CF dual frictions exploding between all the boards I have seen I saw less problems with specs... the chatter thing is an aftermarket clutch thing.
As for the exploding thing, my understadning it was an issure with an older desighn that has been resolved and is no longer sold.
I never really looked at RAM clutches, not much said about them.
