  • Changing Gears and Sound

    Hey Guys,
I was just wondering if I changed my gears to lets say a 3.42 from the 3.08; would it change the sound of my exhaust? Cause I know it is already about as high as I want to go and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if the change would make it go higher, cause thats bad! ;) Thanks Guys!

No. they have nothing to do with each other. the gears are completely seperate from your exhaust.

      wrong.

the gears will change the RPM's you are at when your going a certain speed.

So it could get much louder, because your RPM's are going up.

With an automatic and 3.08's you should be a little over 1800rpm right now at 65mph.

At the same speed with 3.42's you'll be taching 200rpm more.

3.42 > 3.08 by 10% so as you increase speed the difference in rpm goes up.
