trans problem?

i have a 99 firebird a4, with no traction control. whenever i'm cruising arount 70 and i give it a little gas the rpm jump up from 2100 to about 2600 and come right back down.. it seems as if its ready to down shift, but the rpms drop back down. i only tap the gas when this happens.. i don't know if my misfire has anything to do with that.... ???????

Its probably overdrive just kicking off and then back on when you let off. I do it all the time when the cutout is off to show it off because it sounds awesome. I dont think you have anything to worry about.
